Best Hotels in Nashville Near Broadway
As a Nashville local and travel planner, I work with a lot of people who are planning a trip to the Music City. 14 million people don’t visit Nashville every year for no reason! Whether you’re coming to party in the honky tonks, check out the museums and art galleries, or taste all of the southern food, there are plenty of reasons to jump on the bandwagon and plan your trip to Nashville. When I start planning a Nashville trip with someone, a question I’m often asked is “Where are the best hotels in Nashville near Broadway?” I’ve weeded through all of your options and made a list of the best Nashville hotels near Broadway. And the best part? You can walk to your favorite Broadway bar from most of them!
There are so many neighborhoods to stay in and each is charming in it’s own way. If you’re trying to decide which area of Nashville is best for your trip, check out my post on The Best Neighborhoods in Nashville as a great starting place.
Most Convenient: Moxy
The Moxy is about as close to Broadway as you can get! It’s right behind Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk on 3rd Ave. S., literally a half a block off Broadway. It’s a Marriott property (for those of you who are loyal Marriott customers) and has a trendy, industrial feel.
Pros: Very close to Broadway, trendy, pet friendly, live music and bar in the lobby
Cons: Rooms are small, can be noisy since it’s right off Broadway, parking is valet at $50/day
Bottom Line: If you’re in Nashville to party and plan to spend little time in your room, the Moxy is the perfect solution! If you want a more luxurious stay or plan to pay for parking, it may not be your best option!
Best Daily Perks: Drury Plaza Hotel Downtown Nashville
Sitting a couple of blocks off Broadway on Korean Veterans Boulevard is the Drury Plaza Hotel. If you search Nashville Facebook groups you’ll find that the Drury has an almost cult-like following. It’s mostly because of the amenities you receive during your stay. With perks like a free hot breakfast, free snacks and beverages at 5:30 everyday, and free Wifi , people stay here to save money on these things. While the rooms are pretty standard hotel rooms, the perks may win you over.
Pros: Great amenities that could save you money and only a couple blocks walk to Broadway It is uphill at the end of the night, though!
Cons: Rooms aren’t anything special or unique and you’ll have an uphill walk back to the hotel. Nightly price also fluctuates so it may or may not be worth the amenities for you. At $35/night, parking will significantly add to your cost if you have a car.
Bottom line: If little perks make you feel special, this is the place for you!
Most Luxurious: The Hermitage
If you want to splurge on a luxury hotel for your trip, this is the one! The Hermitage Hotel sits about 3 blocks off Broadway (around a 6 minute walk to the Ryman Auditorium) and screams sophistication. At Nashville’s longest standing hotel you’ll enjoy things like a library-themed bourbon bar, Italian bed linens, free cider and cookies in the lobby, and afternoon tea. (see, it even sounds fancy!). It won’t work for a budget trip, but this classic, historic hotel is worth the splurge!
Pros: The well-appointed rooms are larger than most rooms downtown. You’ll find luxury-level service and a unique vibe (inside and out!). It’s also within walking distance to Broadway.
Cons: It’s not cheap! Breakfast and parking are not included (but let’s be real, if you’re staying at the Hermitage you probably don’t care!),
Bottom line: If you want to feel like royalty for the weekend you need to check it out!
Best Rooftop: The Westin Nashville
Even though its a half mile from Broadway in the Gulch, when you step onto the rooftop of The Westin Nashville you’ll understand why it gets my “best rooftop” nod. 27 floors above Nashville you’ll find L27, the rooftop bar/pool area of the The Westin. There are cozy couches, an indoor lounge, and a unique pool that has a glass wall, so you feel like you’re floating above the city. People from all around the city visit the bar, even if they’re not staying at the hotel, so be prepared for crowds later in the evening. But if you’re looking for an upscale hotel with an amazing view, this is it!
Pros: The view from the rooftop, of course. It’s the best place in the city to catch the sunset. Pet friendly. On-site spa. Rooms are a little over 400 sq. ft. which is larger than the average downtown room. Keurig with complimentary coffee in your room.
Cons: It’s pricey. At peak season it can cost $600-$700 per night, but if your dates are flexible you can find it as low as $250. The rooftop can get crowded with non-hotel guests.
Bottom line: If you love a good view and enjoy trendy hotspots, this hotel is for you. And the pool is amazing!
Best For Groups: Bode Nashville
I feel like Bode Nashville is absolutely one of the best hotels near Broadway. It’s a ten minute walk to Broadway and is an “apartment hotel” with perfect options if you’re traveling with a group. There are 1-4 bedroom units to fit whatever size group you have. And the on-site lounge, Sidebar, is one of my favorite low-key places in the city. Stop in for a drink and stay for the acoustic music (the bar closes at 11pm, though, so plan accordingly). Outside is a privacy fence hiding you away from traffic as you hang out in lounge chairs around one of their fire pits. There’s even a cute little restaurant and coffee shop onsite.
Pro: You’ll find units to suit your group’s size. I love the look of the black, modern building with cool retro rooms. It’s also within walking distance of Broadway but has a relaxed vibe if you need a break from the craziness.
Cons: The multiple room units can book up pretty quickly, so if you have a group make sure you book early! Sidebar, the onsite lounge, closes early by Nashville standards at 11pm.
Bottom line: Great location, great space, great areas to relax, great onsite bar!
Most Romantic: The Joseph
If you’re looking for a romantic weekend away with your honey, check out The Joseph! Two blocks (or a ten minute walk) from Broadway, The Joseph is a luxury hotel with a high enough price point that it keeps out most of the groups who are just there to party. Conde Nast called it “refined” and from the moment you pull under their covered unloading area you’ll agree.
The hotel is loaded with custom art pieces, including a gravel art design (yes, gravel and art!) on a lower roof that can be seen from the windows of upper level rooms. Yolan, their fine-dining Italian restaurant on-site has a see-through cheese cave with an 80 pound wheel of cheese for your viewing pleasure. And their newest addition is a sophisticated, almost hidden bar called Four Walls. Relax on the leather couches and admire the animal hide covered walls while you have a cocktail. The hotel itself is a destination!
Pros: Sophisticated luxury within walking distance of Broadway. Amazing restaurants and bars on-site. Upscale clientele. New building that just opened in 2020.
Cons: If you’re looking for a party atmosphere or are traveling on a budget, this isn’t your best choice.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for romance, this hotel gives you a great atmosphere. You’ll also find fabulous dining and drinking options right on-site.
Best on a Budget: SoBro Guesthouse by Black Swan
Let’s get real….. many of us want to stretch our travel dollars and plan trips with a budget. If you’re looking to spend a weekend close to Broadway but don’t want to break the bank, consider the SoBro Guesthouse by Black Swan. It sits on Peabody Street, about a half mile from Broadway (a 10 minute walk). Each unit has a bedroom and separate living area (most with king beds) as well as washer/dryers and a kitchenette. They’re not fancy. There’s no daily housekeeping or front desk (you’ll receive a code to get into your unit for check-in), but they get solid reviews online and you can’t beat the location and price combination.
I checked prices for several different dates and of course they varied, but typically ranged from $150-$250 per night. With a pull-out sofa, most units will sleep 4. Need another reason to consider it? They have free parking! The lot in front the of building is first come, first serve and they do limit you to one car per reservation. This along can be a huge savings in a city where parking can easily run $50 per day.
Pros: Great price for the location. Free parking. Spacious units include living area and separate bathroom. The washer/dryer and kitchenette could be useful. Did I mention free parking?
Cons: If you want luxury or fancy digs, this isn’t it. If you’re a light sleeper you may need earplugs, as people sometimes mention hearing noises from apartments around you. You’re also in an area of town with a lot of construction. While the parking is free, it’s not a very secure lot. It’s in a safe area. (my condo is near here), but it’s still a downtown area in a large city, so don’t leave valuables in your car to tempt anyone.
Bottom line: This is a great budget option that still puts you within walking distance of Broadway and gives you free parking. The price can be comparable to some hotels out by the airport but the location is so much more convenient!
