Brooke’s Top 7 Spots in Nashville for Music Lovers

Hey there, fellow travelers! If you’re a music lover like me, then Nashville needs to be on your bucket list! Literally known as the Music City, Nashville is a hub of live music, history, and culture. In this post, I’ll be giving you my top 7 must-visit spots in Nashville that will make your trip unforgettable. So, grab your cowboy boots and let’s dive in!

  1. Grand Ole Opry
No visit to Nashville is complete without experiencing the iconic Grand Ole Opry. As the longest-running radio show in the US, the Grand Ole Opry showcases the best of country music and still broadcasts live today. From legendary performers to up-and-coming artists, every show is memorable. Make sure to book your tickets in advance (they do sell out) and get ready to see history in the making!
  2. Country Music Hall of Fame
Step into music history at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Even if you’re not normally a museum-goer, the hall of fame is worth your time. Plan to spend a couple of hours to go through the all of the fascinating exhibits, famous costumes, and legendary instruments that have shaped music through today.
  3. Ryman Auditorium
Known as the “Mother Church of Country Music,” the Ryman Auditorium is a historic venue that has hosted legendary performances for over a century. Take a guided tour during the day to learn about the venue’s storied past and catch a live show at night for an unforgettable music experience. The acoustics in this venue are phenomenal and there’s not a bad seat in the house – it’s my all-time favorite music venue!
  4. Broadway Honky Tonks
Even if the wild party scene isn’t usually your thing, you have to head to Lower Broadway and check out the famous Nashville honky-tonks. From neon lights to live music pouring out of every bar, this bustling street is a music lover’s paradise. Grab a cold beer (or three), embrace the crowds, and prepare to have your mind blown. If you want a calm(ish) version of Broadway, go during the day. The music is still phenomenal but it’s not quite as crazy. Many bars are also all-ages during the day!
  5. Johnny Cash Museum
Pay homage to the Man in Black at the Johnny Cash Museum. Explore memorabilia, personal items, and interactive exhibits that celebrate his life and career. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to his music, this museum is worth a visit. It isn’t huge, so you’ll only need to allow about an hour to get through it.
  6. The Bluebird Cafe
For an intimate music experience, The Bluebird Cafe is the place to be. This iconic venue has been a launching pad for many singer-songwriters and famously has some of industry’s biggest stars pop in on any given night. The Bluebird can be tricky, though, as the venue is tiny and seats literally sell out in minutes. Check their website to find out when seats go on sale for the nights you’ll be in town and make sure you log-in to buy tickets the second they do. If you’re one of the lucky few and are able to get in, prepare to see some of the greatest talent in Nashville.
  7. Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum
Discover the unsung heroes of the music industry at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. From session musicians to producers, this museum celebrates the talented individuals behind the scenes who have shaped the sound of music. Explore rare instruments, recording equipment, and interactive exhibits that highlight the artistry of these musical maestros. If you’re a die-hard music fan, put this on your list.

There you have it, folks – my top 7 must-visit spots in Nashville for music lovers. Whether you’re a country music fanatic or simply appreciate good tunes, Nashville has something for everyone.
